Philadelphia, city of Brotherly Love

The Christening we were in the states for was to be just on the outskirts of Philadelphia, in the Ukrainian Catholic Church I once belonged to. I was born in Philadelphia, but back then it was not a nice place to be. It's very different now. Quite lovely and vibrant. A big city with a small town attitude. We booked a night at the Club Quarters on Chestnut Street and made plans to join our cousins, the Kowals, who live downtown with their two children, for dinner.

What a pleasant evening! They treated us to dinner at a local Greek restaurant that was fabulous. We got to know Maya and Roman a little bit which was great fun. Terrific kids. Then we got a tour of their house (amazing kids rooms) and watched videos of the kids performances on stage -- both actors and very talented.

The location of the hotel was great and we had an easy time getting out of the city in the morning. Pretty soon it was time for the Christening, followed by the family party at the Ukrainian Center Tryzub. It was a lovely day overall.

Granduncle and Grandauntie loved meeting the new family member, little Alexander Lee Moch. Zander is a sweetie. Nana Daria approves.

One more night, this time in Lambertiville on the Delaware River and we'd be heading home. I knew it would turn out to be a short week after all.
